Part-Time: Senior Network & Security Infrastructure Specialist

Our client has an immediate requirement for a Part-Time Senior Network & Security Infrastructure Specialist to support ongoing operations and deliver several key infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work on the implementation, upgrade, and support of modern Cisco-based network and security environments, with a focus on both field and head office infrastructure.

Contract to August 2026; part -time, hybrid in Calgary

Must Have:

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Cisco Firewalls (FTD/FMC) at admin level or higher
• 5+ years of experience with Cisco networking, including Catalyst 9000 and/or Nexus 9300 series
• 2+ years of experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE 3.x) in production environments
• 2+ years of practical experience using Splunk for SIEM (adding data sources, dashboards, and custom queries)
• 3+ years of experience delivering infrastructure projects, including remote field deployments

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), Software-Defined Access (SDA), or Cisco XDR
• Knowledge of Cisco wireless (AP 9120/9164 with EWC)
• Familiarity with Cisco Secure Email (ESA/CES), AMP/Secure Endpoint
• Exposure to Microsoft technologies (Azure AD/Entra ID, Teams PSTN, ATP P1)
• Familiarity with APC UPS systems

Responsibilities:

Project Support:

• Upgrade of field and head office firewalls (Cisco FTD/FMC)
• Core network switch upgrades (Catalyst/Nexus)
• Field switch refreshes and deployments
• Implement IoT field network and firewall solutions for remote locations (Calgary-based implementation)
• Expand SIEM (Splunk) capabilities with new data sources, dashboards, and queries

Operational Support:

• Maintain and optimize Cisco network and Wi-Fi environments
• Support Cisco security suite including ISE, DNAC, AMP, XDR, and ESA
• Collaborate on troubleshooting, configuration, and incident response
