Our financial services client is seeking a Database Administrator - (MSSQL, 5-7 years) to support database build, migration, performance tuning, and incident resolution across Azure Cloud environments

Join a collaborative database team supporting diverse lines of business within a major financial institution. This contract role focuses on delivering critical Oracle and MSSQL database support, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, and security compliance. The position offers exposure to complex high-availability systems and direct collaboration with Solution Design, DB Engineering, and Information Security teams. Strong mentorship, technical excellence, and potential for contract extension or conversion make this a high-value engagement.

Must Haves

• 5-7 years in Azure Cloud database administration with focus on MSSQL
• 2+ years in PostgreSQL database environments
• DB setup, installation, and configuration across multiple database products
• Database tuning, query optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Cloud migration and database backup, restore, and recovery proficiency

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases
• Optimize database performance including indexing, query tuning, and resource management
• Ensure database security and implement access control, encryption, and auditing
• Apply native database security features such as TDE, Data Redaction, Database Vault, and Always Encrypted
• Support RAC, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
• Automate monitoring and maintenance tasks to enhance operational efficiency
• Lead technical resolutions for production incidents and participate in BAU, DR, and RCA activities
