KPMG’s Asset Management Tax practice is growing, and this role offers the opportunity to take on a senior leadership position within complex investment fund engagements. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will lead sophisticated client mandates across the investment fund tax lifecycle, work directly with clients as a trusted advisor, and contribute to the development of people, processes, and service delivery within a technically demanding and evolving area of tax.


What you will do

  • Lead large, complex investment fund tax engagements across the full tax lifecycle
  • Plan engagements and organize teams to deliver Canadian investment fund tax mandates efficiently and accurately
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and managers to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to support the development of team members
  • Apply technology‑enabled proprietary platforms to support operational and regulatory tax reporting, including Canadian fund distributions, annual compliance, and U.S. PFIC reporting
  • Act as a primary client contact, building strong relationships and operating as an extension of the client’s team
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, manage risk, and enhance engagement delivery

What you bring to the role

  • A CPA designation is required
  • Minimum seven years of experience in public accounting tax and/or the investment fund or asset management industry
  • Strong understanding of, or demonstrated interest in, tax matters affecting the asset management industry
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple, competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Proven ability to design and implement processes that improve efficiency and quality
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to anticipate issues and develop practical, cost‑effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Completion of the CPA Canada In‑Depth Tax Course is considered an asset

 

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information

 

The expected base salary range for this position is $113,500 to $163,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
