Description
Our client is currently seeking a Surety Technical Assistant to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to enter the specialized world of surety and construction insurance, one of the most technical and high-value segments within the insurance industry.
In this role, you will support a growing surety book of business, assisting Account Managers and Producers with administrative and servicing tasks while gaining hands-on exposure to the surety industry. This position offers structured training, mentorship, and a clear career path for someone looking to build a long-term career in insurance.
The company is open to candidates with no prior insurance experience, particularly individuals from finance, accounting, or payroll backgrounds, as these roles often require the same level of analytical thinking and attention to detail that surety work demands. The brokerage will fully support the successful candidate in obtaining their RIBO license and industry training.

Responsibilities
- Support Account Managers and Producers in servicing a growing surety book of business
- Assist with preparing and processing bond documentation and surety-related paperwork
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation within the brokerage management system
- Follow up on outstanding documentation with clients, insurers, and internal teams
- Assist with administrative tasks related to policy documentation, renewals, and endorsements
- Help ensure all files and submissions meet internal compliance and documentation standards
- Participate in ongoing training to develop knowledge of surety, construction risks, and insurance operations
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Background in finance, accounting, payroll, or administrative roles is highly preferred
- Interest in building a long-term career in the insurance industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- RIBO license is not required initially, but willingness to obtain licensing with company support is required
Work Environment
This role requires 4 days per week in office to support training and mentorship. During the probation period, the position may require 5 days in office to ensure strong onboarding and learning.
Career Path
This role is designed for someone who wants to build deep expertise in the surety industry. The successful candidate will first master the Technical Assistant role before progressing into Account Manager or Surety Specialist positions over time.
