THE ROLE

The ATIP Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s compliance with the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act. This position is responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and processing requests for records and personal information from intake to release. The Analyst reviews records for relevance, applies legislative exemptions, conducts consultations, and prepares release packages in accordance with policy and legal requirements.

The role also manages proactive disclosure processes, supports complaint resolution, and provides expert advice to internal stakeholders on disclosure decisions and risk considerations.

The ATIP Analyst maintains accurate documentation, compiles statistics, and prepares reports to support program evaluation and reporting. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field AND several years of experience in ATIP programs or a related field.

Experience

In processing ATIP requests, including extensions and consultations

In using digital redaction and document processing tools

In interpreting and applying ATIP exemptions

In conducting analysis of documentation and records

In implementing and applying Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) policies and procedures

In supporting the resolution of ATIP complaints

In providing advice and guidance that meets legislative and operational requirements

In maintaining tracking systems, preparing correspondence, document management and compiling information

In planning and prioritizing workload to meet statutory timelines

In preparing and validating publication of completed Access to Information request summaries and travel and hospitality expense information

In preparing ATIP statistical reports and annual reports to Parliament, an asset

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
