Our valued Public Sector Client is seeking a Senior Secret Cleared Vulnerability Management specialist (10+ years) to assist in the tactical implementation of an enterprise vulnerability management program

The successful candidate will be accessing departmental tools and data to perform root cause analysis on vulnerabilities and best strategies to reduce vulnerabilities across the enterprise and use Rapid7 Insight Vulnerability Risk Management (VRM) to track progress, remediate threats and get a clearer picture of risks across the IT environment.

Must Haves:

• Knowledge of vulnerability management technologies (e.g., Rapid 7 Nexpose)
• Experience with Data manipulation: ability to use advanced features of excel and scripting capabilities
• Experience with attack surface management technologies (e.g., Microsoft EASM)

Tasks:

• Accessing departmental tools and data to perform root cause analysis on vulnerabilities and best strategies to reduce vulnerabilities across the enterprise
• Providing technical/ procedural/policy recommendations and assisting with the deployment of mitigating security controls (eg: for unavailable patches)
• Assisting to design, troubleshoot and establish processes and communications patterns
• Collaboratively analyzing and determining vulnerability severity and prioritization according to risk matrix and subject matter expertise
• Evaluating patching exemption requests and risk mitigation strategies
• Generating statistics and metrics related to vulnerability management
• Collaborating with database and platform experts to outline requirements for management of vulnerability management data
• Monitoring industry and intelligence vulnerability information for trends
• Written and verbal communication with stakeholders about vulnerability and requirement mitigation
• Participating at stakeholder meetings to understand gaps, challenges and solutions
