Resource Teaching Position (SERT)
What: The
Pikangikum Education Authority is seeking a motivated individual for the
following above teaching position. This
position is full time and is required for the 2023-2024 school year.
SERT Responsibilities:
·
Be
responsible for the effective instruction and evaluation of students with
exceptional learning needs.
·
Be
responsible for the effective management of all student behavior.
·
Demonstrate an ability to differentiate
academic instruction.
·
Designing
Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
Providing modified and accommodative programing to students.
·
Adapt
learning materials to student’s needs.
·
Coach/mentor
other professionals who work with children with exceptionalities.
Qualifications & Skills:
·
Proven successful
experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
·
Good knowledge of
current special education topics and methodologies.
·
Experience
working with children with a wide range of exceptionalities.
·
Excellent
technology skills. Knowledge of
Indigenous Culture an asset.
·
Speaking
of the Ojibway language an asset but not essential.
·
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.
·
Ability
to work positively with other staff members.
·
Registration
with the Ontario College of Teachers.

Salary Range: $58,000 - $107,000
