POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are currently looking for an assistant responsible for health services concerned with the health of residents. He/she contributes to the planning and control of activities relating to the provision of care and the well-being of residents. He ensures compliance with the standards of the profession as well as the regulations for the certification of private residences for seniors relating to his sector.

More precisely, your daily life with us will look like:
• Practice while respecting the laws and standards in force, the scale of values of residents and their convictions
• Work in close collaboration with the Health Services Manager to supervise and mobilize the work of registered and/or auxiliary nurses and resident attendants
• Plan human resources and ensure timely replacement of care staff as needed
• Act as an intermediary for various external stakeholders (doctors, pharmacists, CLSC, CISSS/CIUSSS, etc.)
• Take appropriate measures with regard to emergency situations that may arise in the establishment
• Responsible for staffing processes in your sector, ensuring the reception, training and integration of new staff
• Proceed to identify the service needs of potential residents or those already living in residence
• Collaborate in monitoring the resident's medical file, occasionally appointments and prescriptions
• All other related tasks.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to standards and legislation in accordance with private seniors' home certification and the code of ethics
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the medical dossiers, occasionaly arrange appointments and prescriptions for the residents
  • Collaborate with residents for medical visits
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
  • Upon requests from physicians, pharmacists or the CISSS, follow up on residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Good sense of interpersonal communication
  • Good communication
  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant (mandatory)
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • PDSB training
  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • Knowledge of Symo software (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the Certification Regulations for private seniors’ residences (an asset)
  • Bilingualism, written and spoken
