As a finance operations director for our finance team in Senneville (West of Montreal), you will be accountable for planning, directing and controlling the finance functions for applicable site, including budget development and control, financial analysis activities. Support with developing and implementing a strategy for the business, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business and financial strategies through effective business partnering.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead the finance function as daily business partners to the site GM and SLT, providing guidance, advice and direction on both site strategy and operational matters.
  • Regularly interact with and support site leadership to connect departments together and drive collaboration across the site to accelerate business performance.
  • Develop and refine a commercial cadence and awareness at the site the drives business performance awareness across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Own the development of a best-in-class function that has personal development, cross-training and a clear vision for their purpose within the organization.
  • Develop and administer accurate weekly and monthly forecasting and annual budget preparation; assume full accounting budgetary responsibility for assigned business.
  • Prepare and present financials and key indicators for business reviews, management reporting, budget and strategic planning.
  • Prepare analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financials compared to forecast, budget and prior year, including market impacts, currency fluctuations, etc.
  • Perform monthly revenue posting and analysis of revenue activities, including: monthly revenue verification; forecast variance analysis; contract reviews; bookings and cancellations reports; utilization; and pricing.
  • Perform complex analyses including year-to-year comparisons and margins on new goods and/or services for forecasting and pricing purposes.
  • Develop, and analyze appropriate key performance indicators optimally to improve business performance
  • Develop, and analyze cost analytics, including but not limited to standard costings, absorption analysis for performance of the business.
  • Develop, and analyze commercial analytics, such as customers, service line profitability and price/volume/mix.
  • Develop, and analyze competitive intelligence. This includes understanding key competitors, monitoring and reporting financial performance where applicable and helping the business to determine strategies and tactics to respond to competitive dynamics.

Requested skills

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role: 

 

•    Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent required.  
•    8-10 years related experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis.
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
•    MBA, CPA or CMA designation preferred.
•    Comprehensive understanding of operational, sales and financial issues for business unit required.
