POSITION: Registered Early Childhood Educators
LOCATION: Wiikwemkoong Board of Education
START DATE: Immediate
SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Toy Librarian/Educator and Program Manager, the successful applicant will perform the following duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Ensure that the native language and cultural activities are mandatory of daily programming.
? Guide the children in their physical, social, cognitive, and language development.
? Supervise children during program activities and ensure their safety and health.
? Responsible for planning, managing, implementing and coordinating activities in the designated area/room as assigned on staff schedule.
? Maintain appropriate information, documentation and maintain journals daily.
? Work cooperatively with other staff as per program delivery.
? Adhere to job description, schedules, childcare policies, and procedures set out in the Hub Centre.
? Adhere to Ministry of Education - Child Care Early Years Act and procedures, the WUT and WBE policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and in good standing or diploma in related field with a willingness to work towards an Early Childhood Education Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
? Fluency in the Anishinaabemowin language and Anishinaabe heritage is a high priority or a willingness to learn.
? Standard First Aid/CPR a definite asset.
? Upon a conditional offer, the successful candidate will be required to submit a recent CRC/VSC & driver’s abstract and a recent COVID-19 test result.
