Description
A career as a Data Modeler in the Data Exposure Expertise team within the Data Office at National Bank means acting as an expert in business data modeling (conceptual data models) to move the Bank towards its data management target. In particular, you'll be working with our IT and business partners, and supporting modeling experts in the Bank's business lines to scale up data modeling practice in our priority areas. Your job
- Define business modeling processes and procedures (recipes, norms, standards, templates, etc.) and ensure their ongoing development;
- Define the business model (high-level model of the organization's major data subjects) and ensure its ongoing evolution;
- Train and support modelers and data architects in the definition of business data models.
- Coordinate the activities of Data Office modelers
- Set up a model review committee and other required validation mechanisms to ensure compliance with acceptance criteria
- Produce business data models according to exposure strategy priorities
- Ensure alignment of business modeling with enterprise architecture and data architects
Your team
As part of the Chief Data Office, you will be part of a team of 12 colleagues with a wide range of expertise (modeling, data stewardship, data engineering, data governance). As such, you will report to the Director of the Data Exposure Expertise Cluster.
As part of the Data Office, you will operate in a matrix mode where collaboration is the watchword for successfully completing the various priority projects and operational activities. This mode of operation will give you access to colleagues with different expertise, experience and profiles, and the opportunity to contribute to different projects to enrich your development in every way. Prerequisites
- University Certificate and (10) years' experience; OR Bachelor's degree and (7) years' experience; OR Master's degree and (5) years' experience
- Demonstrated experience in data architecture and/or conceptual data modeling
- Experience with PowerDesigner
- Experience and knowledge of data management and governance
- Abstraction skills (abstracting business concepts from systems)
