Position: Evening shift | Hours: 3:00 p.m. to 1:15 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

General objective of the position:
Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture various types of new tools according to specifications. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-reliant, detail-oriented, and a team player. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in machining and tooling and intermediate or advanced skills in reading blueprints.

Main responsibilities:

  • Machine setup
  • Load and verify CNC programs, machine settings, tooling, and parameters for optimal performance.
Operation:
  • Use CNC lathes efficiently.
  • Monitor machine operation, perform in-process inspections and quality checks.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain performance and product standards.
Maintenance:
  • Perform regular machine maintenance.
  • Report malfunctions or mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Programming and troubleshooting:
  • Modify existing CNC programs to improve performance or correct errors.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or programming issues and implement appropriate solutions.

Safety and compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Documentation and reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production, tool changes, maintenance, and inspections with minimal supervision.

Skills not required but preferred:

  • Proficiency in the operation of CNC machines.
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and techniques.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a manufacturing environment.

Education and experience:
  • A minimum of a college degree or vocational qualification in machining technology is required for this position.
