We are currently seeking a talented individual to join the École Whitehorse Elementary School team. École Whitehorse Elementary is located within the traditional territory of the people of Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council. École Whitehorse Elementary is a single-track French Immersion school, Grades K-7 with a student population of approximately 470. We have a dynamic, dedicated staff. Students enjoy specialty classes in the arts, outdoor education, library, Applied Design Skills Technology, movement and dance and Physical Education, all delivered in French. Students also have Southern Tuchone First Nations Language classes.

End Date: June 12, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
Experience working with youth
Fluency in both English and French
Post-secondary training in educational assistant, exceptionality worker, special education assistant, or a related field would be considered an asset
Experience working with youth with special needs would be considered an asset
Add clear, understandable, realistic and demonstratable-in-a-resume qualifications.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;

- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Criminal Record/RCMP Check with Vulnerable Sector; to be provide before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
- Standard First Aid; to be provided within 3 months of the first day of employment
- Completion of the Education Assistant YG Learn course
