OSSTF - Occupational Therapist
One (1) Temporary Full Time Position (35 hpw)
Effective Date: Immediate - June 26, 2026
Salary: OSSTF_PSSP 6 $49.20 - $68.23 (per hour plus vacation pay)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Occupational and Physical Therapy Services, The Occupational Therapist will provide assessment, consultation and therapeutic programs for students with special needs that include physical, neurological, medical, developmental and cognitive disabilities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate the functional level of the students motor skills and/or sensory needs as well as the physical environment to identify barriers to the student accessing the school environment.
- Support educators involved with students with physical and/or cognitive challenges with developing special educational programs and strategies that encompass motor skills and/or sensory needs to maximize student success while ensuring and promoting independence.
- Develop individual programs for students including curriculum adaptation, transitions to/from grades/schools or community programs and recommend accommodations and modifications to physical, social and academic environments.
- Provide consultation to schools, parents, guardians, and community agencies in addressing visual perceptual, self-help skills, social skills, sensory needs, equipment needs, functional mobility, safety needs and transportation needs.
- Participate as a member in multidisciplinary team meetings and IPRCS.
- Build capacity in educators through in-servicing, one on one consultations, and modeling.
