Xplore is building a world-class fibre optic and 5G wireless network to enable innovative broadband services for better every day rural living, for today and future generations.

The Director, Forecasting, Planning & Insights serves as the functional leader for the company’s subscriber and revenue forecasting engine and a critical partner in enterprise‑wide strategic planning. This role owns the models, methodologies, assumptions, and analytical insights that inform weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance discussions.

Reporting to the VP of Business Analytics & Planning, this leader ensures the organization has accurate, aligned, and well‑understood forecasts that support confident executive decision‑making. They bring rigor, structure, and strong business judgment to every step of the forecasting and planning process, while leading a high‑performing analytical team.

Key responsibilities include:

Forecasting Leadership (Subscribers & Revenue)

  • Lead the full forecasting and planning cycles for subscribers and revenue — building the work‑back schedule, defining the end‑to‑end process, and ensuring all milestones are met
  • Proactively coordinate meetings, drive alignment, and ensure all stakeholders understand timelines, inputs, and expectations
  • Work cross‑functionally with Network, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Finance to deliver a coherent, well‑aligned plan
  • Apply strong judgment and business acumen to develop grounded assumptions, challenge inputs, and identify risks and opportunities
  • Streamline forecasting processes to improve accuracy, transparency, and efficiency while also documenting methodologies, assumptions, and changes across cycles
  • Provide hands‑on coaching to Sr. Managers and Analysts, including exceptional Excel modeling support and occasional direct modeling when needed

Weekly Results Insights

  • Lead the weekly results narrative — identifying drivers, shaping the story, and ensuring alignment before materials are drafted
  • Analyze subscriber, revenue, and operational performance to explain variances and trends
  • Partner with Business Intelligence to ensure data consistency and integrity
  • Serve as a key analytical voice in executive discussions, bringing clarity and structure to complex performance questions

Strategic Planning & Scenario Modeling

  • Build and refine scenario models to support strategic and financial planning
  • Lead the Long Range Planning and Annual Planning cycles
  • Ensure forecasting outputs tie seamlessly into Finance planning cycles

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Managers and Analysts
  • Elevate modeling capability, analytical rigor, and forecasting discipline
  • Foster a culture of clarity, accuracy, and continuous improvement

What Success Looks Like:

  • Forecasts are accurate, trusted, and delivered on time
  • Planning cycles are well-coordinated and aligned across functions
  • Leadership has clear visibility into performance outlooks, risks, and opportunities
  • Forecast assumptions are transparent and well understood
  • The team is seen as a credible, proactive partner to the business

The ideal candidate will possess:

Core Experience

  • 12-15 years in forecasting, FP&A, strategy, analytics, or a similarly quantitative and cross‑functional role
  • Deep experience in strategic planning and managing forecasting models (subscriber, revenue, or financial forecasting strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to partner with Finance and senior leadership on planning cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional processes end‑to‑end
  • Experience coaching analysts and elevating team capability
  • Experience (or a strong interest in) using AI to evolve forecasting methodologies and improve planning efficiency is preferred. Embrace new ways of working rather than defaulting to legacy approaches

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills — able to move seamlessly between detail and executive‑level synthesis
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to challenge assumptions constructively
  • Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and visual
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to see the broader narrative
  • Strong organizational discipline — able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with precision
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and high expectations

Condition of Employment:

As a condition of employment and in order to comply with industry related data security standards, this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal Background Check. Details will be supplied to applicants as they move through the selection process.

Xplore is committed to creating an accessible environment and will accommodate disabilities during the selection process. Please let your recruiter know during the selection process of any accommodation needs.
