STAFF VACANCY
ACADEMIC SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHER (10 POSITIONS)
JULY 2 - JULY 25 PART-TIME TERM
(9:00AM-12:00PM, M-F repeater) or (9:00AM-2:00PM, M-F non-repeater)
The Winnipeg School Division is seeking teachers to instruct courses for Academic Summer School in the areas of Math, English, Science, Humanities & Physical Education.
Teachers will be responsible for supporting student learning in repeater or non-repeater courses with the goal of individualizing education for each student in their classroom with a focus on outcome-based education and engagement.
Teachers will work to build an environment that inspires students, as well as improve their engagement with learning. Through Joy, Love, and Rigor, the task daily for us is to have learners feel supported and challenged every day through meaningful activities and lessons to achieve their goals.
Start Date: July 2, 2025 Salary: $73.21 per hour Duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Manitoba curriculum.
- Develop a Course outline for students in advance that highlights outcomes and methods of showing “attainment of knowledge”.” Voice and Choice” must be permitted and encouraged !
- Utilize a variety of methods to accommodate different learning styles with a focus on outcome-based education and personalized learning
- Complete intake conferences and assessments for all classroom students
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Maintain open communication with students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide daily feedback to students during classroom learning
- Provide daily feedback to the lead teacher
- Support classroom students in conflict management
- Practice on site safety protocols
- Keep records of attendance and report daily to the lead teacher
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Ability to implement a course and support student learning in an accelerated time frame
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional ability in building strong positive relationships within a classroom environment
- Commitment to student growth and continuous learning
- Experience with outcome-based education and individualized learning.
