Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager, Rehabilitation Services, and/or their Designate(s) and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of the St. Boniface Hospital, the Rehabilitation Porter is responsible for: transporting and transferring patients, charts and related equipment; assisting with preparing patients for therapy when requested; maintaining schedules of all patient appointments; maintaining and cleaning equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience
  • Six (6) months experience in a hospital or equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or in a related care position.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12, or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
