Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nursing Director, or The Assistant Director, Nursing Education, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Continuing Education Instructor is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel; facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required/assigned.
- Minimum two (2) years recent N.I.C.U. nursing experience required.
- Experience in education program planning is an asset.
- Demonstrated teaching experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Level certification required.
- Current NRP Instructor status preferred.
NOTE: Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including word processing, e-mail, PowerPoint and internet applications is required.
