- Must have a minimum of five years previous electrical, electronic and mechanical experience in the industrial maintenance field.
- Experience in a production environment involving production equipment and building maintenance preferred.
- Experience working in a Millwright and/or Power Engineering capacity preferred.
- Experience in the maintenance of laundry equipment an asset.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Must be qualified as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Additional education and/or training in industrial electrical/electronics, as recognized by the Centre, preferred.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License required.
- Current and valid Manitoba drivers license required.
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be knowledgeable in different types of valves, including powered operated valves and remote solenoids, and understand their general application.
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Must be able to withstand short periods of strenuous activity.
- Entrance into confined spaces and working on ladders or platforms is common.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (eg. half face respirators, fall protection harnesses, work gloves, hearing protection and steel toe safety shoes).
- Must be able to work overtime, on weekends, rotating shifts and be able to change shifts as required to complete maintenance tasks when necessary, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
