Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of the Hope & Healing Program, the Provincial Coordinator is responsible for leading the planning, development, promotion, coordination, and evaluation of the CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) Hope & Healing Program to improve the patient experience for people living with cancer across Manitoba. The position has a strong emphasis on advancing health equity, cultural safety, and improving access to Hope & Healing services for patients and families outside of Winnipeg, including First Nations, Métis, Inuit, rural, northern, and other underserved populations.

This role provides provincial coordination and functional oversight of regional Centre for Hope Coordinators (outside Winnipeg), supports the development of a cohesive province-wide Hope & Healing program, and establishes a provincial Community of Practice to facilitate shared learning, consistency, and collaboration across sites. The position is responsible for the development of program guidelines and standards grounded in cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and equity, establishment of program reporting and evaluation systems, preparation of grant applications and reports, and collaboration with CCMB programs, regional health partners, and community organizations to expand access to care closer to home. The Coordinator works as a team member of CancerCare Manitoba.

Qualifications:

Required:

Level of Formal Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate degree in Health, Education, or Community Development. A combination of related education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in program planning, development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in community engagement and programming.
  • One year of experience working with volunteer coordination.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience developing program guidelines and standards.
  • Experience tracking quantitative and qualitative data and preparing reports.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and support teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom).

Asset:

  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, Inuit communities and/or demonstrated understanding of cultural safety, anti-racism, and the impacts of colonization within healthcare systems.
  • Background in coordination of provincial or regional networks
