Position Overview

The Corporate Administrative Assistant is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of administrative support to the Chief Medical Officer and the Director Health Services - Acute Care. The role provides direct operational and medical administrative support for the Minor Injury and Illness clinic, Long Term Care and Clinical Resource Team, together with support for corporate operations.

Experience
  • Three to five (3-5) years’ experience in an administrative assistant position, preferably in the healthcare field.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Completed high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Certificate or diploma from a recognized business administration program or the equivalent in education and experience.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Works within MHC’s core values, philosophy, vision, continuous quality improvement (CQI) goals, policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of finance-related activities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of SAP and ESP are considered an asset.
  • Ability to function independently as well as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks to meet identified deadlines.
  • Exercises a high degree of integrity, professionalism and discretion at all times due to the confidential nature of the information dealt with daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately record, transcribe and prepare formal meeting minutes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Skills in organizing, managing, and coordinating events and projects.
  • Identifies, analyzes and solves problems within the scope of the position.
  • Keyboarding speed of >65 wpm.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
