JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Addiction and Mental Health Services for Adults Program Manager, the social worker coordinates mental health and addiction crisis intervention services, and promotes appropriate community integration to optimize services. The incumbent also provides a full range of services to this patient population, carries out clinical tasks specific to social work, and ensures that the patient and their natural support network are included in the development of intervention plans. They provide clinical leadership, supervision and coordination for the clinical services provided by the mobile crisis team. They are responsible for strengthening and coordinating mental health and addiction crisis intervention services as part of a continuum of care. They also offer training sessions to educate and support our partners in their work with people experiencing mental health crises in the community. They work closely with the program manager to ensure the department runs smoothly. The duties of the position also include assessment, planning, development, treatment, helping relationships, crisis intervention, promotion, prevention, as well as ongoing collaboration in establishing and maintaining connections with various community partners.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registration with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers;
- At least one year of clinical experience in the field of mental health and/or addiction services;
- Relevant progressive professional experience in which leadership skills have been demonstrated;
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) or commitment to complete training within established timeframes;
- Crisis intervention training or commitment to complete training within established timeframes;
- Familiarity with the software commonly used within Vitalité Health Network;
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
- Communication and interpersonal skills;
- Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
- Ability to develop effective partnerships with community networks;
- Sound clinical judgment and good analytical reasoning;
- Valid driver’s licence;
- Ability to travel within the zone served;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
