Description
Department mission
The mission of the Communications Department is to ensure the quality of the City’s communications with citizens and other audiences and to maintain the City’s reputation and the consistency of its image.
Responsibilities and goals
Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Communications, the jobholder serves as a communications specialist, in addition to having an advisory role with internal clients and sees to the creation and dissemination of the various activities in the unit. The jobholder carries out various communication, promotion, advertising and information activities for citizens. The jobholder recommends action plans and communication strategies, and monitors the resulting programs, projects and activities.
The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop, coordinate and carry out information, promotion and public relations campaigns aimed at informing the public about the City's programming, projects and activities, policies and achievements, especially on digital platforms;
- Update content and ensure strict control of digital communication tools: website, intranet, citizen consultation platform, newsletters, electronic billboards, etc.;
- Establish the schedule of projects under their responsibility and ensure that deadlines are met;
- Ensure the proper use of the visual identity, compliance with graphic standards, and the quality of images and illustrations published;
- Design and produce printed and digital documents, and carry out the various variations (web banners, electronic billboards, social networks, posters, etc.);
- Write and revise texts;
- Coordinate projects with the different service providers;
- Recommend to their superior any measure to improve the Department;
- Perform any other related task on request.

Requested skills
The applicant must have an undergraduate degree with a specialization in communications or a related field, and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, the use of content management systems (such as WordPress, Drupal, ...) and the use of email campaign platforms (such as Mailchimp, Brevo, Adobe Campaign...). The position calls for a high degree of mastery of both spoken and written French in order to write and present enriched and complex texts, and a sufficient command of English to read documents, communicate orally and write simple texts. The City has the translation services required to ensure the bilingual production of documents. The jobholder must demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, autonomy and team spirit.

- Experience in a municipal environment
- Knowledge of Craft CMS management system, Cyberimpact email platform and/or Adobe suite
