Come work as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Richmond Hospital OB/GYN team is looking to hire TWO full-time (flexible to consider part time) general OB/GYN providers to start immediately. We are a dynamic and collegial group. We value diversity and work with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, midwives, and nursing staff.

Richmond hospital is a community academic teaching hospital and serves as a core 3rd year clerkship site for UBC Faculty of Medicine and community gynecology and elective site for senior residents from UBC OBGYN Residency Program. Applicants must have an interest in medical education. Participation in department administration and quality review is expected. Strong communication skills and a commitment to a Respectful Workplace and supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is health care are required.

RGH is a 240-bed community hospital offering general OB/GYN services. We deliver 1500-2000 babies per year through primary OB services and by consultative care to FP-OB and midwifery care providers. Successful full-time candidates would be expected to take call (8-10 12-hour shifts per month). Providers have access to the OR for surgical gynecologic care. Outpatient office work is at the applicant’s discretion - there are opportunities to set up new office space or join existing offices.

It is centrally located on Canada's West Coast, in Metro Vancouver and we acknowledge its location is on the unceded and traditional homelands of the Coast Salish peoples. The city is 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver, 25 minutes from the US border and it is the location of Metro Vancouver's international airport.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full - Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) - Mandatory
  • Obstetric Experience - Mandatory
  • Surgical Skills in Gynecology - Mandatory
  • Up to date certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Up to date certification in Fetal Health Surveillance

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong skills in minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures are required.
  • Interest in urogynecology procedures is an asset.
