Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Avoidance of Unnecessary Residential Care and Acute Admissions (AURAA) team in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Rehabilitation Assistant you will:

• Function under the operational supervision of the Manager and the work direction of a licensed designated occupational therapist or physiotherapist to work as a member of the health care team.
• Provide assigned physical / occupational therapy therapeutic interventions.
• Assist in modification of Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy care plans and facilitates transition to community programs in order to enable clients to maximize potential for independence.
• Provide functional direction to family, reports relevant observations of client's condition in writing or by utilizing basic computer literacy.
• Manage equipment safety and inventory.

Education & Experience

• Completion of a recognized Diploma level Rehabilitation Assistant Program with Occupational and Physical therapy components plus one (1) year's recent, related experience working with target population.
• Valid BC Drivers License. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed.

• Demonstrated ability to provide self-care instruction and education.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 5, 2023, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
