Role

Valero Energy, the leading distributor of petroleum products in Quebec and the second-largest refiner in Eastern Canada, is currently seeking a student to support its Procurement team for the upcoming summer season. As a Procurement Coordinator, you will participate in the planning of terminals across Eastern Canada through various supply modes (marine, rail, pipeline). You will also analyze current processes, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to help optimize departmental activities.

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the supply logistics of various terminals in Eastern Canada. The coordinator will also be responsible for managing the railcar fleet and empty railcars.

Responsabilities

  •  Develop an understanding of the petroleum industry and terminal supply operations in Eastern Canada

  •   Prepare and distribute daily and weekly supply reports

  •   Participate in the forecasting and allocation process for various terminals

  •   Contribute to process and tool improvements to enhance quality and reliability and reduce report preparation time

  •   Participate in the customs clearance request process

  •   Provide administrative support for various procurement-related tasks

  •  Support regulatory reporting activities related to vapor pressure during the summer period

  •  Provide backup support for Procurement Coordinators to ensure coverage during vacation periods

 


Qualifications

Qualifications

  •  Currently enrolled in a university program in Engineering (Chemical or Operations) or Business Administration

  •  Bilingual in French and English

  •  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required

  •  Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a changing work environment

 

Employment period to be filled: May to August 2026.
