Why This Position Is OpenTo support the daily operations of our funeral complexes and meet the growing needs of our operational team, we are seeking an Operations Attendant.
This position has been created to strengthen our on-site team, ensure the smooth execution of daily operations, and maintain the high standards of our facilities and services while upholding our mission and values.
Working under the supervision of the operations team, the Operations Attendant contributes to the day-to-day activities of the funeral complex. The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities, providing logistical support for services, and ensuring that all duties are carried out with dignity, discretion, and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the funeral complex, including floors, washrooms, reception rooms, entrance doors and windows, flower arrangements, and the display room. Maintenance of columbariums and crypts is performed as required.
- Replace burnt-out light bulbs.
- Review the urn interment schedule and the daily complex calendar.
- Set up visitation rooms, chapels, and reception areas, including the placement of ashes, deceased persons, flowers, and other required amenities.
- Transfer the deceased from the refrigerated holding room to the visitation room or chapel.
- Order and verify deliveries of supplies, including coffee, tea, glassware, sanitary products, cleaning supplies, office supplies, and other related materials.
- Prepare document folders for Funeral Directors.
- Refill and maintain the coffee machine.
- Empty waste bins as required.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
- Casual / On-call position.
- Availability to work a minimum of six (6) days within a fourteen (14)-day period, including every other weekend.
- Hourly rate: $25.61, in accordance with the collective agreement.
- High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent.
- Good overall physical condition.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset.
- Resourceful with a strong sense of initiative.
- Demonstrates the utmost respect and discretion toward families and the deceased.
- Courteous, attentive, and responsive to the needs of families.
- Versatile, detail-oriented, and well organized.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
