Casual Vehicle Washer

Urgel Bourgie is currently seeking a Casual Vehicle Washer to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the Facilities Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our fleet vehicles, ensuring the garage remains clean and organized, and supporting the daily operations of the department.

Position Summary

Vehicle Cleaning

• Wash the interior and exterior of fleet vehicles;
• Clean floor mats, windows, windshields, doors, and rear compartments;
• Vacuum vehicle interiors and trunks;
• Polish and wax vehicles;
• Check windshield washer fluid levels and refill reservoirs as needed;
• Move, park, and position vehicles according to operational requirements;
• Report any damage or mechanical issues observed on vehicles.

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the garage;
• Sweep work areas;
• Clean garage drains;
• Ensure tools and equipment are clean, safely stored, and well organized.

Operational Support

• Assist with receiving merchandise and caskets;
• Support the Inventory Clerk with handling and storing materials;
• Assist the Mechanic with various tasks;
• Accompany the Mechanic when picking up or delivering vehicles;
• Prepare tools and provide assistance during mechanical work;
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's licence (required);
• Experience in a manual labour position, vehicle maintenance, automotive detailing, garage operations, or a related field (asset);
• Good physical condition and ability to perform material handling tasks;
• Ability to safely operate and move various types of vehicles;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Team-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently;
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.

Working Conditions

• Hourly wage of $21.22, in accordance with the collective agreement;
• On-call schedule to replace regular Vehicle Washers during absences or to meet operational demands, including Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid meal break.
