Role Overview

Branch manager is a senior commercial and relational leader, accountable for revenue growth and for stewarding Urgel Bourgie’s relationships with the communities it serves. The role combines two strategic mandates: leading a high-performing sales (pre-need and at-need), and acting as Urgel Bourgie’s ambassador across cultural, religious, and faith-based communities throughout the branch. The successful candidate will translate Urgel Bourgie’s mission into commercial performance and durable community presence, while embodying the empathy, dignity, and trust that define the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Sales leadership

  • Develop and execute the annual sales strategy and revenue plan, aligned with Urgel Bourgie’s growth objectives.
  • Drive sales execution with a relentless focus on lead generation, lead conversion, and closing rates; build the disciplines, dashboards, and rituals that make these metrics visible and actionable.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the team;
  • Set, monitor, and report on KPIs, forecasts, and pipeline health; ensure rigorous performance management.
  • Optimize pre-need sales programs and at-need conversion through best-in-class processes, training, and tools.
  • Define and uphold sales standards, certification, and ethical practices in line with industry regulation.
  • Partner closely with operations, marketing, and finance to deliver a seamless client and family experience.

Community relations

  • Build, deepen, and steward partnerships with community leaders, places of worship, cultural associations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead Urgel Bourgie’s presence at community events, sponsorships, and cultural gatherings; represent the brand publicly with poise and credibility.

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, ideally in services, relationship-driven, or trust-based industries (funeral, insurance, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, or related).
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing distributed sales teams and consistently delivering against revenue targets, with a track record of measurably improving lead conversion and closing rates.
  • Proven track record in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or public representation across diverse communities.
  • Collegial degree in business administration, commerce, communications, or a related field; advanced degree an asset.
  • Fully bilingual (French and English), oral and written — non-negotiable.
