General Purpose

The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus is seeking a Student Life Coordinator (SLC) to support student development and build a strong, connected campus community. This role works directly with students to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students can succeed academically and personally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver programs that promote student engagement, belonging, and learning
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, including referrals and support planning
  • Facilitate student conduct conversations focused on accountability and growth
  • Support conflict resolution and contribute to a respectful community
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to student concerns and critical incidents
  • Lead a key operational portfolio within Student Experience (e.g., residence, events, or student leadership)

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree;
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working with students, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Experience supervising student staff;
  • Strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, and student support.

Assets include experience or training in mental health, crisis response, leadership development, and coaching.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for on-call rotation and occasional late evenings/weekends

The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
