Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications and Knowledge Mobilization, the Knowledge Mobilization Manager (Manager) designs, delivers and evaluates an annual knowledge mobilization plan that supports the goals of the Alliance. The Manager uses excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to work with partners across the University, OMAFRA and external agri-food sector to enhance the impact of Alliance programs, including the Tier 1 Research Program and the Knowledge Translation and Transfer Funding Program, and research conducted at Ontario’s Agri-Food Research Centres, a network of centres that spans the province of Ontario. The Manager works with a dynamic team of research administration, communications, and knowledge mobilization professionals at the intersection of academia and government. The Manager is the direct supervisor of a full-time position, the Research Centre Outreach Coordinator. The Manager is an enthusiastic problem-solver with strong communication and project management skills. Requirements for the position include: An master’s degree in a related field with a preference for agricultural sciences, extension, or a similar field, and at least three years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent understanding of knowledge translation and transfer (KTT), knowledge mobilization (KMb) and/or implementation science theory and best practice, with preference for additional training in KTT or KMb (for example, University of Guelph Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization or equivalent program). Understanding of the Ontario agri-food sector. Demonstrated experience in collaboration, liaison and/or brokering activities in a professional setting. Demonstrated ability to build consensus among partners and collaborators with broad and complex needs. Excellent project management skills. Experience in event and/or conference planning. Superb attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to translate scientific information to a variety of audiences. Proven ability to identify, design and deploy project specific KTT tools to enhance research impact. Strong program design and evaluation skills.
