General Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Learner Success and Credit Learning Access, the Examination Coordinator (EC) is responsible for the coordination of final exams for degree and Open Learning program (OLp) students enrolled in Distance Education courses who write their final course examinations off campus. The EC works with SCS staff, Registrar’s Office, Student Accessibility Services, faculty, staff and students to ensure a smooth process. Throughout the examination process, the EC promotes the integrity and authenticity of student learning assessment.
Requirements
The University recognizes that no individual will have the following skills and experience in equal measure, but the qualifications below will be used to assess candidates:
- A two-year community college diploma
- A year of experience working in a customer-facing, administrative position
- Demonstrative administrative skills, including excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail
- Proven technical skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Experience with student information systems (SIS), preferably Ellucian’s Colleague and Modern Campus Extended Education (formerly Destiny)
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), preferably D2L Brightspace
- The ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with nervous or visibly upset learners and handling confidential information
- Ability to work well under pressure during peak periods and in an environment where many things are happening at once, all requiring immediate attention.
