Position Summary

The Nursing Practitioner demonstrates autonomy while assuming and having sole accountability and the authority to independently communicate a diagnosis, prescribe drugs and order a range of diagnostic tests, the principal responsibilities include: utilizing and demonstrating advanced knowledge and decision making skills to conduct comprehensive assess, diagnose and manage the care of patients; planning and implementing strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families and groups; delivering, coordinating and participating in educational and professional development activities/programs. The NP will assume a Most Responsible Provider role at Toronto Western Hospital, which is a purpose-built clinical space to provide comprehensive and expedited geriatric consultative care and lead complex disposition planning. As such, the NP will be uniquely positioned in guiding the development and evaluation of an innovative model of care for requiring Emergency Medicine Care.
