Electrician / Electromechanic – $33 to $47/hour + $180/day per diem (net)

$33 to $47/hour depending on experience

  • $180/day per diem for workers living more than 100 km away

Available shifts:

  • Day Monday–Thursday: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Evening Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM

  • Weekend Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Role Overview

As an Electrician / Electromechanic, you will perform installation, maintenance, and connection work on electrical and electromechanical systems aboard ships and in workshops. Responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting plans, work orders, sketches, diagrams, and specifications.

  • Preparing electrical and electromechanical materials and components for ships.

  • Measuring, locating, preparing, installing, and connecting electrical or electronic devices, components, and associated accessories.

  • Installing cable trays and supporting infrastructure.

  • Performing electrical work during commissioning of equipment and systems and providing support as needed.

  • Inspecting, locating, and repairing electrical or electromechanical defects.

  • Wiring various types of electrical penetrations.

  • Assembling and inspecting connectors or other fittings.

Required Skills / Qualifications (Ontario)

  • College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, or equivalent (Ontario)

  • Trade Certification: Electrician or Electromechanic (Construction & Maintenance) or 1st-year apprentice eligible in Ontario

  • Successful completion of the security clearance process required under the Federal Government Contract Security Program

Extras:

  • Per diem: $180/day for workers living more than 100 km away

  • Shifts: 7-7 or 14-14 possible

  • Flight expenses covered
