APPLIED BEHAVIOUR ANALYSIS FACILITATOR

Trillium Lakelands District School Board requires one permanent full-time Applied Behaviour Analysis Facilitator commencing September 2, 2025.

Region: Muskoka and/or Haliburton

Location: Muskoka Education Centre or Haliburton County Education Centre Salary: $83,715 - $91,172 (as of September 1, 2025)

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a permanent full-time position associated with the school year calendar.

The ABA Facilitator will work closely as a member of the Special Education Interdisciplinary Team, to provide consultation and direct support to school staff under the supervision of the District Principal for Special Education Services. The ABA Facilitator works directly with schools as a collaborative partner and with classroom teachers, parents and community agencies to meet the needs of exceptional students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • support principals, teachers, educational assistants and multidisciplinary teams by providing and coordinating Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) instructional methods and resources at the board and school level.
  • assist in developing goals to support Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students by incorporating ABA methods
  • liaise and facilitate collaboration between community partners/service providers and schools
  • provide system level professional development for staff
  • keep current with relevant research, initiatives and evidence-based practices as they relate to neurodivergent learners and self-regulation
  • utilize and interpret the results of informal observation and curriculum-based assessment in planning for individual student needs
  • attend case conferences, In-School Team meetings, community agency meetings, as required
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have attained a university degree in psychology or related discipline and have additional training in the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). This must be either a 4 year university degree with training in the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) or a combined equivalent of a three (3) year bachelor degree in psychology or related discipline with specialized program/certification in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). In addition, candidates must have field experience with a minimum of two years' related work experience, which could include:

  • observation and individualized data collection methods;
  • analyzing and summarizing data;
  • completing Functional Behaviour Assessments;
  • developing Behaviour Support Plans, Safety Plans
  • developing and supporting implementation of individualized reinforcement, self-monitoring and self-regulation programs.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Assets for successful applicants would include:
  • an understanding of the ways in which the Board, community agencies and organizations can work collaboratively to support students who have neurodiverse learning profiles
  • effective presentation skills;
  • and the ability to align professional activities with system and Ministry priorities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Successful applicants will demonstrate evidence of:
  • experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular, those who have autism or other neurodiverse learning profiles;
  • experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning and training;
  • excellent organizational and coordinating skills;
  • excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • experience working in collaborative teams; and
  • ability to travel from site to site
