TEMPORARY PART-TIME (0.4 FTE) PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT

Trillium Lakelands District School Board requires one (1) temporary Psycho-Educational Consultant. This position is available for the period as soon as possible following the hiring process until June 26, 2026.

Region: City of Kawartha Lakes

Location: Lindsay Education Centre (Supporting schools within the City of Kawartha Lakes area)

Salary: $86,722 - $94,401

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a part-time position (0.4 FTE - 2 days per week) associated with the school year calendar.

The Psycho-Educational Consultant will promote student achievement, equity and well-being, through consultation and administration of psycho-educational assessments to children and youth. The psycho-educational consultant works with elementary and secondary schools to administer appropriate psychoeducational assessments, including but not limited to assessments of cognitive ability, academic achievement, social-emotional and adaptive skills. The psycho-educational consultant will also provide follow-up services from assessment recommendations including capacity building with staff. The psycho-educational consultant may also review and explain recommendations made in external assessments to support school staff in establishing programming for students.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consult with regular and special education teachers, Specialized Services staff, administrative staff and parents regarding student learning profiles, including accommodations and modifications;
  • Administer appropriate psychoeducational assessments, including but not limited to assessments of cognitive ability, academic achievement, social-emotional and adaptive skills;
  • Complete comprehensive written reports that include recommendations for programming;
  • Conduct report shares with families and school staff;
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records;
  • To interpret psychological assessment reports from agencies or professionals outside of the school system;
  • Provide follow-up services from assessment recommendations including capacity building with staff;
  • Interpret and discuss assessment results, recommendations and program modifications with appropriate staff and parents;
  • Act as a resource to the In-School Team to support the preventative approach through consultation;
  • Provide workshops to meet identified needs of School Board staff;
  • To be knowledgeable of current tests and measures related to school age children;
  • To be knowledgeable of recent developments in programming and interventions for exceptional students;
  • To be knowledgeable about pertinent legislation/board procedures related to privacy, duties to report and Personal Health Information Protection Act
Qualifications:

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology or an acceptable combination of formal education and experience;
  • Experience in administering psychometric assessments with children and youth.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Experience writing clinical reports and making evidence-based recommendations;
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an integral part of a team;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpretive skills and analysis; computer literacy;
  • As travel is required, candidates must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
