Controller – Real Estate

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join a well-established, family-owned real estate organization. This is an opportunity to become a key member of a collaborative leadership team and contribute to the continued growth and success of a company built on integrity, trust, and long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management reporting.
• Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, and liquidity planning.
• Oversee internal controls, audit processes, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor portfolio and property-level financial performance.
• Support acquisitions, developments, refinancing activities, and investment analysis.
• Develop and improve financial policies, procedures, and reporting processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in real estate, property management, real estate development, construction, or investment properties.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
• Experience managing audits and working with external advisors.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use real estate.
• Multi-entity and portfolio-based reporting.
• Experience within a privately held or family-owned business environment.
