Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), the successful candidate will work with the Workplace Health and Safety, Human Resources, Information Technology teams and external specialists to analyze systems to record and track Workplace Health recommendations, actions and resolutions. The individual will understand UKG and build/populate and maintain data bases in Parklane to support the measurement and communication of WHS metrics to support data-based decision making. They will perform appropriate data analysis and make recommendations as appropriate to the Departmental Managers/Directors.
This role will focus on optimizing WHS data management, reporting and applicable auditing to confirm compliance with the WHS system and compliance with associated SHN policies.
The successful candidate will require excellent analytical skills, along with good interpersonal skills. The candidate will make timely WHS data management recommendations in consultation with other subject matter experts.
Responsibilities:
• As the subject matter expert for Parklane, provide support and troubleshoot system issues, and recommend process improvements.. Prepare and manage Workplace Health and Safety reports including generating reports, data analysis and preparing presentations for key stakeholders, on WHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Work with Parklane vendor for system updates and new requirements.
• Parklane administrator responsibilities, which include report development and generation plus auditing activities related to system maintenance and data accuracy .
• Maintain WHS corporate dashboard working in collaboration with other key stakeholders.
• Prepare WHS reports for Programs and Unions as requested by WHS team.
• Prepare statistical data submissions for third party surveys including Ontario Hospital Association annual survey and flu compliance report to Ministry of Health.
• Develop and maintain training materials and standard work for WHS initiatives.
• Provide support with documentation for WHS programs/policies.
• Provide support for the Attendance Support Program as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor or Diploma of Business Administration or Data Analytics with one (1) year related experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Data Analytics Certificate
• Excellent analytical, communication, research skills, and decision making processes along with good interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates the ability to summarize and detail key issues, and make key recommendations to stakeholders
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Parklane, Workday and UKG systems and
• Proficient in computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel Skills, including the use of Power Query and Pivot Tables, Power BI, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Parklane, Workday and UKG and other similar technology systems as required
• Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects. Demonstrates values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
• Utilize protective equipment provided where required and identify and reports hazards
• Excellent work performance and attendance
Asset:
• Knowledge in federal and provincial employment legislation (WSIA, OHSA, ESA and Human Rights)
• Ability to speak another language
