Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East (ENHANCE) Ontario (also referred to here as “EO”) is a not-for-profit corporate entity which will provide centralized IT services to its seven (7) member hospitals (Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Lakeridge health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Scarborough Health Network) to manage and operate a set of shared digital assets. This will enable its 7 member hospitals across 14 sites to deliver high quality and safe patient care using the shared Epic Clinical Information System (“CIS”) to over 1.5 million patients residing in both rural and urban communities located in the Central East region of Ontario.

Job Description:

Position Overview:
Epic Technical and Senior Technical Specialists (Willow) are responsible for ongoing maintenance and operations of the Willow Application including triaging and prioritizing issues, troubleshooting, break-fixes, maintenance, system upgrades and enhancements and optimizations with a goal to continue to enable workflows that in the relevant clinical areas. This role will also act as a secondary support contact for the application’s end users.

Responsibilities:
• Acting as Tier 2 support contact for the application's end‐users
• Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them

  • Participates and leads testing of application updates, enhancements, custom programming and new releases/quarterly upgrades
  • Support operational committees and working groups with workflow design/optimization decision-making by highlighting system capabilities, limitations, risks etc.
  • Work with Principal Trainers to maintain training materials and content in sync with build updates
  • In collaboration with Principal Trainer, analysts will support application's end‐users
  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
  • This role may include on-call support on a rotational basis*

    Requirements:
    • Experience working with Epic® (Essential)
    • Certified in Epic Willow Inpatient (Essential) and Epic Willow Inventory (Preferred)
    • Graduate of a Pharmacy degree from a recognized university (Highly Preferred)
    • Licensed to practice pharmacy by The Ontario College of Pharmacist (Preferred)
    • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Hospital Pharmacist (Preferred)
    • Clinical knowledge of how various medications should be ordered
    • Familiarity with pharmacy workflows, including dispensing and clinical monitoring

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to logically examine a problem and determine the root cause and course of action

• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability and willingness to learn new software, systems, and processes
• Highly reliable, able to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles and work under time pressures
