Systemic Treatment Clinics:

Suspicion of Cancer Clinic (SoC):

Suspicion of Cancer (SoC) is defined by persistent (>4 weeks), progressive, or unexplained symptoms, with early identified investigation abnormalities, giving rise to a clinical concern for an underlying malignancy that does not yet meet criteria for a disease-site-specific pathway or specialty referral. Suspicion of cancer is informed by the clinician’s overall clinical assessment and judgment, including situations where clinical concern remains high despite non-specific or indeterminate findings. SoC clinics are an Ontario Health - Cancer Care Ontario project (BEACON) aiming to improve the diagnostic experience for patients and providers. SHN’s SoC clinic is Nurse Practitioner lead, ensuring timely diagnostic assessment, strong navigation and care coordination, while advancing equity and access to care.
