As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive reporting and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position fosters collaboration across finance teams and ensures alignment on critical financial metrics.
You will take ownership of essential financial reporting tools, including Business Dashboard, Project Performance Tracking, Capital Budget Oversight, and Sales Data Analysis to support testing and new initiatives. Your work will be instrumental in equipping Field Merchants and cross-functional teams with the financial insights necessary to optimize event execution, monitor performance, and align merchandising with operational finance strategies.
By delivering accurate, actionable reporting, you will help identify opportunities for improvement, ensure efficient capital allocation, and support the successful execution of merchandising initiatives.
At the Home Depot the Financial Analyst is responsible for:
Own and manage financial reporting processes, including performance metrics and project tracking.
Maintain and enhance the Business Dashboards, ensuring timely updates and integration of actionable insights in collaboration with the Field Merchant team.
Prepare and present complex financial analyses in a clear, concise, and executive-ready format.
Oversee capital budgets, ensuring proper allocation, utilization, and alignment with the Cross-Functional Team (CFT).
Monitor capital expenditures, analyze variances, and recommend budget adjustments as needed.
Ensure alignment and transparency in capital expense reporting across merchandising and operations finance teams.
Act as a liaison between merchandising and operations finance to align financial goals, reporting standards, and data integration.
Promote and implement best practices in financial reporting and data management across teams.
Conduct ad hoc financial and sales data analysis to support testing, new initiatives, and performance optimization.
Identify sales trends and areas of underperformance to support data-driven decision-making.
Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations and develop tailored reports.
Lead special projects and ad hoc assignments, applying creative problem-solving to develop new reporting methods and drive process improvements.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Internal candidates must meet minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management requirements (M+ rating or higher).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Finance Business Partner, with a strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and business modeling, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with data analytics and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Alteryx, and SQL is needed.
Proven ability to manage and analyze large data sets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as merchandising, operations, and corporate finance to drive alignment and collaboration.
