Education Director

Timiskaming First Nation is currently seeking an Education Director to ensure continuity and proper functioning required to achieve the community’s educational objectives.

YOUR MISSION:

As the Education Director at Timiskaming First Nation, your mission will be to:

• Provide vision and direction for the Education Department.

• Plan, organise, lead, and control all educational activities.
• Ensure the effective implementation of all educational programs and services.
• Supervise, mentor, and support educational staff.
• Develop and implement work plans, policies and performance measures for the department.
• Seek new funding opportunities to strengthen and expand educational services.
• Manage departmental budgets, funding agreements, and reporting obligations.
• Represent the community within educational networks and act as a liaison with educational institutions and other partners in the education sector.

YOU NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration and/or Education.
• Minimum of 7 years’ teaching experience and 3 years’ management experience.
• Experience in strategic planning, staff management, budget management, report writing, and program development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
• Knowledge of the services offered by Timiskaming First Nation and of the education systems in Quebec and Ontario.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

• Position: Permanent / Full-time.
• Location: Notre-Dame-du-Nord.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday (35 hours/week).
• Salary: $49.38 to $78.94/hour.
