Supervisor, Fracture Clinic

Human Resources Management:

  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of team members
  • Review, organize and assign duties and tasks to team members in line with collective bargaining agreement
  • Establish work schedules and provide relief for absences as needed
  • Monitor and control overtime when necessary
  • Evaluate performance of the team and conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Assist with job postings, interviews and staff hiring as needed
  • Arrange orientation and training for new hires
  • Recommend, implement and document disciplinary actions in conjunction with Human Resource department

Daily operations management and optimization of clinic flow:

  • Monitor clinic performance daily to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely
  • Identify and recommend solutions for issues and problems as they arise
  • Review and update clinic forms and other documentation templates on a regular basis
  • Monitor clinic scheduling system to ensure clinics are not overbooked and that clinic visits are spaced appropriately over the clinic time
  • Monitor WebER to make sure schedule is assigned by the team members
  • Monitor clinic patient flow to ensure patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure that patient concerns and complaints are reviewed and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Monitor telephone calls and messages to make sure calls are returned in a timely manner
  • Conduct periodic staff meetings
  • Relay pertinent information to the team members in a timely manner
  • Ensure staff training is kept up to date
  • In collaboration with clinical staff make sure supply carts have adequate supplies that complies with clinical best practices
  • Ensure that clinical equipment remains in good working condition

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s Degree is an asset.
  • 3-5 years healthcare experience; outpatient experience in an orthopaedic setting preferred.
  • Recent relevant supervisory or leadership experience in health care preferred.
  • Demonstration of course work and/or certificates in leadership/communication, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of organization Information Systems such as SunnyCare, Quadramed and Excelicare.
  • Superior organizational, leadership experience in health care preferred.
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent change agent skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of general medical and diagnostic imaging terminology an asset.
  • Demonstrated coaching and empowering style of management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and patient-centred care.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
