Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager and working in collaboration with the Professional Leader, Supervisors coordinate and evaluate both clinical and operational activities within the Radiation Therapy Department. Their primary goal is to foster a supportive environment for all staff, patients, and visitors by ensuring appropriate staffing levels, maintaining efficient clinical workflows, and promoting effective communication and collaboration across the team.

  

A key focus of this supervisory vacancy is leadership of the department’s informatics portfolio, including oversight of data integrity, digital workflow optimization, and the systems that support clinical operations. The Supervisor is also accountable for accurate, timely provincial data reporting, ensuring compliance with external requirements and supporting organizational performance metrics.

  

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing daily workload distribution, supervising and evaluating staff performance, supporting complex clinical decision‑making, and implementing departmental policies.

 

Summary of Duties:

  • Supervise and evaluate clinical and staff activities to ensure safe, efficient, highquality operations
  • Monitor clinic processes and trends to drive workflow and efficiency improvements
  • Lead departmental informatics functions and ensure accurate, timely provincial data reporting
  • Manage staffing assignments, scheduling, and approval of time off
  • Complete performance appraisals and support goal setting and staff development
  • Support staff education and professional development to enhance knowledge/skills and lifelong learning
  • Act as a resource for complex cases, advanced treatments, and new technologies
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and retention initiatives
  • Investigate and resolve concerns involving patients, visitors, or staff

  
Qualifications/Skills

  • Baccalaureate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • Registered and in good standing with CMRITO
  • Minimum 5 years’ Radiation Therapy experience
  • Master’s degree and prior leadership experience considered assets
  • Training in health informatics, data science, or AIenabled clinical systems an asset
  • Experience with clinical informatics, digital workflows, and datadriven quality improvement
  • Knowledge of provincial reporting requirements, data standards, and performance indicators
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to prioritize in a fastpaced environment
  • Proven ability to build positive, collaborative interprofessional relationships
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills
  • Experience with change management
  • Current CPR certification
