Pharmacy Technician - Automation & Packaging Pharmacy - Regular Full-time 2024-7877

Summary of Duties The primary responsibility of this group and the technicians staffing the area is to complete area medication cart fill for acute care patients at the Bayview site and to prepare the fill for the Automated Dispensing cabinets at the Holland Centre. Packaging of additional medications, both hazardous and non-hazardous for all pharmacy sites (Extended Care, Bayview Acute Care, Holland Centre and St John's) will also occur and may be expanded with time. Clerical duties such as inventory management. Responsibilities include tasks such as ordering and receiving of drugs and supplies, inventory management, medication cart delivery and performing the necessary functions on computers (WORx, Rx Connect) while meeting pharmacy standards for accuracy and speed are a requirement. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacy technician interested in robotics and informatics and expanding their skills in this area. The current McKesson equipment will be replaced in 2022 and this is an opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of the processes associated with the implementation of new equipment.   Qualifications/Skills Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists or a graduate of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education program leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Detail oriented Self-motivated and able to take initiative Reliable Customer service skills and empathetic manner
