We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Patient Service Partner in the Schulich Heart Centre: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Department at our Bayview Campus. Hours of Work: Weekdays and Alternating Weekend: Days, Evenings, 12 hrs; As per schedule Statutory Holidays Required Summary of Duties: Working with the professional team, the Patient Services Partner: participates in the caring of patients by providing a variety of support services to the team and patients; participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service; and promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, families, visitors and Hospital staff. The Patient Services Partner will be working in the Schulich Heart Centre with his/her primary responsibility in the Gilbert Cardiac ICU and Schulich Short Stay Unit. The PSP will be required to assist with patient care and other unit duties and responsibilities, and the decontamination of patient care areas and equipment. The PSP may also be required to assist on other units in the Schulich Heart Centre as needed. Qualifications/Skills: Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education PSW Certificate or completed the Sunnybrook PSP (formerly PSA) course is preferred Infection Prevention and Control Certificate required Two (2) years of related health care experience required Recent PSP experience required, experience in acute care and/or critical care setting preferred Good communication skills (both written and oral) Ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Must be accustomed to high patient acuity Proven ability to work under pressure and to handle various tasks within a limited time frame Flexibility and willingness to take direction Must have attended WHMIS training Must be prepared and able to use all personal protective equipment Demonstrates excellent customer service Qualified candidates are invited to submit their cover letter and resume (in one document) quoting 231335 to: Human Resources Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre To apply, please click "Apply for Position" at the bottom of this page.
