Summary of Duties • With supervision and direction of Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists provides a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions consistent with the patient/family needs and priorities as well as the Program’s clinical benchmarks • Performs basic evaluative functions e.g., monitor ROM, mobility • Performs direct clinical interventions e.g., patient mobilization (transfers, walking, stair practice), additional treatment sessions/day, supervision of exercise practice, assembly of assistive devices • Assists with treatment e.g., 2 person assistance for patient ambulation • Assists with treatment planning and modification e.g., functional measures – TUG, Self-paced walk, stairs  • Collaborates with and reports any observations/ changes with regard to patient condition and response to intervention to the supervising therapist e.g., daily conferencing • Cleaning and maintenance of rehab equipment related to Inpatients e.g., walkers, crutches, canes, sling & springs, linen, supplies in exercise folders • Documents accurately and according to the hospital’s standards   We Provide: • Team oriented, progressive clinical environment • Acute Inpatient, Transitional Care, Short-Term Rehabilitation, and Outpatient experience • Membership on the interdisciplinary team • Opportunity for participation on committees to develop and enhance processes of care • Clinical education for students and interns • Continuing education and professional development   Qualifications/Skills • Combined PTA/OTA College (Public Institution) Certificate required • Previous experience in area of musculoskeletal and geriatric rehabilitation • Knowledge of equipment and hygiene principles • Strong customer service focus using person-centred care concepts • Strong team player; ability to function in an interdisciplinary team setting • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work in a fast paced physically demanding environment
