Description
Reporting to the Manager of Respiratory Therapy and the Clinical and Professional Practice Leader (Respiratory Therapy), the Respiratory Therapy Equipment Coordinator works at all times within an interprofessional model of care. The Respiratory Therapy Equipment Coordinator maintains and services Respiratory Therapy equipment. They are responsible for (but not limited to): Performing routine equipment assembly Performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance/repair functions Keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies Maintaining adequate stock of respiratory supplies/equipment Maintains adequate supply of medical gases in the RT departments and RT storage areas Performing transportation functions Cleaning/processing respiratory equipment Performing cross-functional and/or other duties as assigned or requested Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required Qualifications/Skills At minimum, completion of high school Computer proficiency Good verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation, an asset Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.), an asset Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices, preferred Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients Ability to perform responsibilities in a courteous manner Ability to work independently Knowledge of medical terminology, an asset Mature, independent and self-motivated Demonstrated ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills Demonstrated ability to handle stressful environment Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Effective communication skills Commitment to personal and professional development Excellent attendance record
