Description
Summary of Duties
• Reporting to the Director of Operations (Schulich Heart Program) the incumbent will manage and maintain the Cardiac clinical databases and CorHealth Ontario registries within the Schulich Heart Program. Included are the following: CorHealth Data Collection and Information System (DCIS) for all cardiac procedures; National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR); etc.
• Liaison and collaboration with other hospital database coordinators e.g., NSQIP and Decision Support Team
• Data collection including chart abstraction and computer data abstraction
• Data entry and maintenance of cardiac databases and CorHealth registries as mentioned above
• Provision of statistics and reports from the databases at regular intervals
• Liaison with internal and external agencies in performance of duties
• Provision of training to Schulich Program data analysts in area of expertise
Qualifications/Skills
• Health Sciences or Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital based setting in clinical chart review, data abstraction, and health care related databases
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications including Excel, Access DB and PowerPoint. A technical test is required for the prospective candidate.
• Experience with statistical analysis, graphics an asset
• Health care background an asset
• Demonstrated suitable knowledge of medical terminology an asset
• Work well with multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately while adapting to changing environment and priorities
• High degree of initiative and self-directedness
