Data Architect, Reporting - Temporary Full-Time - Project REACH 2025-15343

As part of Project REACH, a multi-year initiative to implement a new Health Information System (HIS) across Sunnybrook, we are seeking a BI Data Architect (Reporting) to design and build the enterprise reporting architecture supporting Oracle Health and other enterprise reporting systems.

Summary of Duties

• Design the data warehouse, semantic layer, and reporting architecture to support Oracle Health and enterprise reporting needs.
• Define the end-to-end reporting architecture, including staging, operational data store (ODS), semantic layer, and presentation layer.
• Establish data models that support clinical, operational, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with CCL Report Writers and BI Report Writers to define report requirements, source mappings, and validation rules.
• Set data governance, metadata standards, and reporting frameworks to ensure consistency and reliability of institutional data assets.
• Ensure data model alignment with Oracle Cerner Millennium schema, enterprise data strategy, and institutional standards.
• Support CCL and BI Report Writers during design, development, and validation phases.
• Work closely with Decision Support, HIS, and Integration teams to ensure consistent reporting and data reuse across systems.
• Ensure the reporting architecture meets performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance needs (PHIPA, retention policies, etc.).
• Document data models, lineage, and reporting specifications to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements.

Qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BI and data architecture, with emphasis on reporting and analytics solutions.
• Experience designing data warehouses, semantic layers, and reporting architectures within healthcare or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of HIS data models (Oracle Health Millennium experience preferred).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent database and BI platforms (Power BI preferred).
• Expertise in data modeling, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
• Experience working with clinical and operational data for regulatory and performance reporting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and clinical teams.
• Experience in agile project delivery and large-scale data modernization programs.
